Not to go all dracarys and spoil the Targaryen party, but it appears that we'll have to wait a while for the second season of House of the Dragon.
Even before House of the Dragon premiered on HBO in August, we'd already heard rumors claiming that the studio had already renewed the show for a second season. It did not take long for this to become official. However, it appears that House of the Dragon Season 2 won't start production until next year.
According to sources, pre-production on House of the Dragon Season 2 is going to start in October but the actual filming won't be until March through June in Càceres, Spain.
When you consider that the debut season of House of the Dragon didn't begin production until April of last year and premiered only in August a year later, it's highly likely that the follow-up season will follow the same time frame. As such, fans shouldn't expect House of the Dragon Season 2 until mid-2024. But, of course, we could be wrong, and HBO could still speed up the timeline.
