Hogwarts Legacy refuses to let the magic die. Well over half a year after gracing store shelves and bringing Potterheads into the late 1800s version of iconic Wizarding World locations, including Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, it's still out-selling some of the biggest games of the year.
Accoridng to the latest data, courtesy of Gamesindustry.biz, Hogwarts Legacy has topped the sales charts in the United Kingdom once again. The Warner Bros. title not only soared back to first place but also experienced a 228% uptick in its week-on-week sales. It's worth mentioning that this leap is mostly fueled by a retailer promotion that skyrocketed sales across all platforms, particularly PS5 at a 266% sales jump followed closely by Xbox Series X|S at 249%.
It's safe to say that Warner Bros. Discovery is in the right for doubling down on Hogwarts Legacy and already working on a sequel.
Hogwarts Legacy's charm extends far beyond just a week's performance. Over the course of the year, the Harry Potter universe game has solidified itself as a force to reckon with, selling over 15 million copies and raking in a staggering $1 billion for its developer, Avalanche Software. Even now, it's giving new titles a run for their money - like Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, which tumbled down to fifth place from its debut spot at number one, with a 71% decrease in sales. Its resurgence is particularly impressive considering the UK Sales Charts only tally physical copies, omitting its digital sales, which had a 30% discount recently.
