It has been an interesting week for Henry Cavill. The actor lost his job as Superman after DC Studios decided to go in a different direction with the character. However, he looks to have found an equally awesome gig as a replacement.
It seems that Cavill did not have to wait long as reports suggest that he will be starring and producing a live-action adaptation of the Warhammer 40,000 series. Amazon is currently in the process of acquiring the rights to the popular miniature wargame franchise. Apparently, the streaming giant is in the final stages of striking a deal with Games Workshop, the company behind Warhammer 40,000.
Aside from Cavill, no other names have been attached to the project. Amazon may wait for the deal to be finalized before it begins the process of searching for a screenwriter and a director for the upcoming series. Fans of the series may have to wait a long while before the show starts production.
Warhammer 40K is a popular tabletop wargame set 40,000 years into the future where the different factions wage a never-ending war against one another. The game features several factions including humans called the Imperium of Man and the elven Aeldari. Other factions include servants of the Chaos God, an ancient skeleton-like race of Androids, green-skinned Orks, blue-skinned T'au, and the mysterious Tyranids.
