Greetings, comrades! The wait for mechs in Helldivers 2 just got a bit more interesting.
The ever-gimmicky developers just threw a curveball at players, locking access to these powerful new combat suits behind a last-minute narrative-driven mission: successfully liberate a specific planet under attack and the mechs are yours.
Just recently, Arrowhead confirmed the EXO-45 Patriot Exosuits were in production on the factory planet Tien Kwan. Excitement swelled in the Helldivers 2 community as these hulking mechs promised to change the battlefield dynamic. But an in-game message as well as a social media post have shifted the focus. "THIS IS NOT A DRILL!" declared the official Helldivers 2 Twitter account. The message went on to state that mech factories are under attack, halting production. The call to action? Liberate Tien Kwan!
This twist in the narrative is orchestrated by Helldivers 2's unique gameplay feature: a "Game Master" named Joel. Similar to a Dungeon Master in role-playing games, Joel shapes the ongoing galactic war within Helldivers 2. This liberation mission serves as a Major Order, a community-wide objective with a deadline. Completing this objective by March 10 is crucial for securing the mechs that will help turn the tides of war against the Automatons and Terminids.
