Zombies and necromancy are par for the course for Call of Duty. But, magic, such as Wingardium Leviosa from Harry Potter, isn't something you'd associate with Activision Blizzard's marquee franchise. This is why fans can't help but smile about the small Harry Potter cameo in Modern Warfare 2, specifically, one of the game's operators, Nova.
As pointed out by what we can only assume is a Potterhead on Reddit, Nova, whose real name is Nila Brown, is a huge fan of the Wizarding World franchise herself. She even got the Deathly Hallows symbol tattoed on her left arm near the elbow.
For the muggle-born gamers out there, the Deathly Hallows are the name given to powerful magical objects said to have been created by Death and given to each Peverell brother. The said treasures are the Elder Wand, the Resurrection Stone, and the Cloak of Invisibility, and they all play a key role in the story of the Harry Potter novels and live-action films. It's also the name of the final books or films of the mainline Harry Potter series.
Upon further inspection, it seems that Activision Blizzard might have accidentally left out the tattoo in the game. If you go to the Instagram page of the model for Nova, you'll find that she has the same tattoo in the same exact location. Some are also half-expecting a lawsuit of some kind, especially if Warner Bros. Discovery decides to pursue legal action. Although such a "generic" looking tattoo probably doesn't fall under copyright laws.
