Harley Quinn is included in the new DC slate

Harley Quinn was already been renewed for a fourth season on the streaming service way back in August of last year. There was a great deal of uncertainty about the fate of the series when it was announced that Gunn and Safran were taking over after the departure of Walter Hamada. The comments from the co-CEOs may be an assurance that the series will continue to be part of the DCU moving forward.

"Patrick Schumacker, Justin Halpern, and their incredible team of artists and writers have created something so explosively funny and original, and we are thrilled to continue this journey with them and the show's legion of fans. It has been amazing to watch the show grow and evolve this season and we could not ask for a more talented and dedicated team of collaborators," Billy Wee, HBO Senior VP of Comedy & Animation for HBO Max, said of the renewal.

Peter Girardi, Executive Vice President at Warner Bros. Animation adds, "Three seasons down and I can't even begin to think about the new levels of chaos and trouble that Harley, Ivy, and the gang can get into with a fourth season. But I'm grateful to our partners at HBO Max for continuing this insane ride with us so we can all find out."

Harley Quinn follows the misadventures of the titular character after her messy breakup with the Joker. She is joined by her best friend Poison Ivy in her adventures alongside other popular other DC villains. Kaley Cuoco is the voice actor for Harley Quinn with Lake Bell as Poison Ivy.

There is currently no release date for Season 4 of Harley Quinn. However, an animated short film titled Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine's Day Special is set to premiere on February 9.
