Rockstar Games has just announced that it is going to shut down GTA Online on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 later this year.

The few GTA Online players who are wreaking wanton mayhem on Los Santos on the PS3 and Xbox 360 will only have a couple of months left to make the most out of their time in Los Santos unless they switch to a different platform. If you're playing Grand Theft Auto Online on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, you'll only have until December 16 to log in.

After December 16, Rockstar Games will shut down and remove stat tracking on the Rockstar Games Social Club for GTA Online on the older platforms. Rockstar Games also added that players will no longer be able to purchase Shark Cash cards for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of GTA Online after September 15.
