The Grand Theft Auto datamining community really outdid itself this time - usually digging around in game files results in vague leaks and a few images of an asset crudely loaded up in rendering software, but this time it's as tangible as it get - not only did data miners find new car paint jobs for GTA 5's Expanded and Enhanced ports, but they modded them into the current version.

Shared first on Twitter by the miners themselves, GTA 5's upcoming next-gen port, launching next March, will include new "chameleon" paint jobs. These pearlescent color schemes mix multiple different shades that sort of shift around on the car depending on what angle you look at it - not unlike those "oil effect" paint jobs, but with a broader selection of colors.

The data miners didn't stop at finding these new paint jobs and loading them up for themselves to share on screenshots - they went ahead and released mods that let you use these chameleon paint jobs in GTA 5 right now, provided you play on PC.

The recent major, story-driven DLC for GTA Online, The Contract - featuring returning protagonist Franklin Clinton and Dr. Dre as himself - brought a ton of content not only to the game, but also to the game files on your system right now that you can't see unless you know what to look for.
