GT7 adds four new cars but no new tracks with Update 1.25

The 1980 Maserati Merak SS is the performance variant of the Merak sports car. Introduced in 1975, the Merak SS sports a bigger engine producing 216bhp and is 50kgs lighter. The Merak SS can be purchased from the Legendary Car Dealer in GT7.

The second car from the Legendary Car Dealer is the 1973 Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R coupe. This is the grandfather of the very popular Nissan GT-R we have today and the second-generation Skyline. The sports coupe has an inline-six engine capable of producing 160bhp.

The 2018 Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 is an updated version of the 2015 Nismo GT-R that is already in the game. The new car belongs to the GT3 class and can race in Group 3 events. The car can be purchased from Brand Central.

The final car in the update is the 2022 Mazda Roadster NR-A (ND). This club racer comes with the Mazda Spirit Racing livery and will compete be one of the cars used in the Mazda cup. The new Mazda Roadster is available for purchase in Brand Central. Added features and tweaks The Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R in the new Autumn Scapes.

A new Café Menu Book has been added featuring Historic Sports Cars. The event is for classic sports cars with 580 performance points or lower. Two new Extra Menu items have also been included in the update for the Honda NSX and Nissan Silva collections.

Five new race events will be added to the game. Three of those events are related to the Historic Sports Car Café Menu activity. There are unfortunately no new tracks or track layouts added with Update 1.25 to the disappointment of many fans.

The "Whitby" and "Autumn Leaves" scenes have been added to the Scapes mode. There are also various tweaks and fixes to the game, with the biggest one focusing entirely on the physics simulation of GT7. Understandably, as that plays a major role in a realistic racing game.

Tire heat generation and wear ratio have been updated along with the suspension geometry. There are changes coming to the initial values of the suspension parts and differential gear. Some cars have changes to their initial performance point values.

Car damage conditions have also been adjusted. Cars are now less likely to sustain damage when hitting barriers and obstacles. This is one of the more important changes to the game as players have been upset that even a light scrape with a barrier can cause damage and adversely affect performance.

The Gran Turismo 7 community has had mixed reactions to the new update. Some are happy with the car selection and new racing events that have been added with the update. The fact that a surprise update dropped so suddenly is also viewed generally positively.

Others have expressed dismay that no new track has been added to the game since the introduction of the Watkins Glenn track several months ago. Some fans are also upset that the promised feature enabling players to sell cars is still not in the game.

Update 1.25 is now available for download. Gran Turismo 7 is playable on PS4 and PS5 consoles.
