Earlier this year, James Bond fans got wind of a credible GoldenEye 007 leak after an achievement list popped up on the Xbox Live servers. Since then, fans haven't heard much about the long-rumored "revival" of the classic 1997 N64 title. But, if we believe what a trusted industry insider just said, we might just see GoldenEye 007 be announced soon.

According to VentureBeat reporter Jeff Grubb, Microsoft might reveal the GoldenEye 007 remaster "in the next few weeks." Grubb talked a bit about the GoldenEye 007 remaster on GrubbSnax, an exclusive show on Giant Bomb Premium. Unfortunately, Grubb didn't reveal more information about the re-release of GoldenEye 007 outside of who might announce it. Also, it should go without saying, you'll want to take everything that you just read with a grain of salt.

Having said that, a GoldenEye 007 remaster is a long time coming. Last year, footage of a canceled attempt to remaster GoldenEye 007 went viral, which only fueled further interest from fans to see it come to fruition. Many consider GoldenEye 007 the best James Bond game of all time, something that might only change with IO Interactive's take on the iconic spy's adventures.
