You could probably still 100% God of War between now until November 9.

We continue to unearth new revelations from Sony’s latest earnings report.

This time around, some digging tells us that bringing the award-winning game, God of War, to the PC, gave it a noticeable bump in sales. The PS4’s best-selling title originally sold 19.5 million copies by October of last year. Fast forward to a PC port and roughly a year later and that figure is now up to 23 million. It’s a substantial increase that should encourage Sony to bring more of its first-party titles to the PC going forward.

Here’s what Sony said about God of War: Ragnarok in the earnings report:

The previous God of War game released in 2018 was one of the biggest titles ever released exclusively for PlayStation, selling 23 million units cumulative to date. We expect similar performance from this new title as well.

After revealing God of War: Ragnarok last September, PlayStation and Santa Monica Studio have spent the past couple of months drumming up hype for the highly anticipated sequel.

2018’s God of War is a good example of how to do a reboot right.

Unfortunately, the past few days haven’t been kind to Kratos and Atreus’ emotional journey of self-discovery. After the game went gold in October and review copies were sent to a few individuals, the plot of the game leaked online. To make matters worse, a retailer apparently shipped out physical copies of God of War: Ragnarok much earlier than expected. Non-media people got their hands on the game and started leaking important info online. Santa Monica Studio had no choice but to concede, asking fans to stop sharing spoilers and avoid the internet if they do not want the story spoiled for them.

The review embargo lifts any day now, so we’ll find out more what critics have to say about God of War: Ragnarok.

It’s believed that God of War: Ragnarok will head to the PC next in the future.

Fans have high expectations for the God of War sequel. Many are pitting it against Elden Ring as the only legitimate contenders for this year’s GOTY award. Elden Ring already has a leg up on God of War: Ragnarok after winning one award in Japan.
