George R. R. Martin has revealed preparation has already begun on House of the Dragon Season 3 and, in a welcome surprise, even Season 4.

In a new post published on his blog, the author revealed he recently took a trip to the UK where he visited the set of the show and spent some time discussing the roadmap for its third and fourth seasons with showrunner Ryan Condal and his writing team.

Martin wrote that the conversations yielded fruit but the two days they had were not "nearly enough" for the work they had to do on the project. Given both seasons are still several years away, Martin and the team have a lot of time to put together another meeting and polish their ideas for the show.

Martin also touched on House of the Dragon Season 2, which is in production at Leavesden Studios. The show's first teaser trailer was released a few days ago and Martin declared its Red Keep and Dragonstone sets as the best film sets he has ever seen. He wrote that the sets were "HUGE, stunning, and so damned real that I felt as if I had gone through a time portal to medieval Westeros.

In his post, Martin also revealed that, and this is bound to make fans jealous, he got a preview of Season 2's first two episodes courtesy of Condal and they were great. He labeled the two episodes as very dark, enough to bring his friend to tears.
