How many games are part of the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection?

According to a report by Eurogamer, the PlayStation Store page lists that the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 is a five-game bundle that includes: Metal Gear Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake Metal Gear Solid (Including VR Missions/Special Missions) Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (HD Collection version) Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (HD Collection version) Even if the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake is the focus of many fans' attention, the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 is more than enough to keep fans occupied in the meantime.

Containing the original versions of the games with "minimal edits to copyrighted content", Konami is assuring fans that the collection will serve as a decent tribute to, and preservation, of the franchise.

Are more similar collections coming? Hopefully. Konami has nearly a dozen of mainline Metal Gear games BY Kojima that it can include in a potential Vol. 2 and Vol. 3.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriot, in particular, is still stuck on the PlayStation 3.

Curiously enough, the original storefront had delisted the games two years ago over "licenses for select historical archive footage used in-game." Konami promised that they would return, which is what brings us here today.

In any case, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 is a lot of Metal Gear. Seeing as this isn't Konami's first rodeo, we're looking forward to a proper preservation of one of gaming's most iconic and influential franchises.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 will be available to play on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, and the PC (via Steam) later this year.
