Bloodborne, a critically acclaimed action RPG exclusive to PlayStation 4, continues to fuel speculation for a remake on PlayStation 5. Believe it or not, FromSoftware’s final boss, Hidetaka Miyazaki himself, recently commented on its possibility.
Miyazaki, the current president of FromSoftware and the director of Bloodborne, among many other studio hits, recently spent time with different gaming outlets following the official reveal trailer of the Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree.
In a pair of separate interviews, Miyazaki addressed the potential benefits of a remake as well as the fan enthusiasm, which remains strong nearly a decade after Bloodborne first came out.

With IGN, Miyazaki reminisced his “great memories” working on Bloodborne many years ago before confirming that he nor anyone from FromSoftware can speak on it because Sony owns the IP. Meanwhile, Miyazaki expressed his “happiness” about the continued passion for the game with Eurogamer, acknowledging the potential value that the new hardware could bring in terms of enhancing the game’s visuals and accessibility for a wider audience, drawing parallels to the successful Demon’s Souls remake.
This confirms that FromSoftware is aware of the strong fan demand and sees potential in remaking the 2015 title. Unfortunately, this also means that a potential Bloodborne remake doesn’t need the studio’s involvement.
FromSoftware is currently set to release Shadow of the Erdtree for Elden Ring on June 21 with a limited edition bundle available for $249.99 for the more hardcore fans.
According to Miyazaki, Shadow of the Erdtree will live up to the expectations set by the previous expansions released by FromSoftware, including The Old Hunters, which is the lone expansion for Bloodborne. This includes adding more difficult challenges designed to test the mettle of hardcore fans looking to prove their worth. Unfortunately, Shadow of the Erdtreemight be the only DLC or expansion we’re going to see for a while for Elden Ring.
