Blumhouse Productions is a well-established name in the horror genre. Renowned for producing iconic franchises like Insidious, Halloween, The Purge, M3GAN, and others, the American company is collaborating with Striker Entertainment on the much-anticipated film adaptation of Five Nights at Freddy’s. Now, a new report suggests that both companies are aiming to give the film a substantial runtime.
According to the reputable Twitter user Cryptic4KQual, known for sharing movie runtimes, the upcoming film will have a runtime of approximately three hours.
Five Nights at Freddy’s runtime has been updated to approximately 3 hours (APPROXIMATELY)
A few months ago on my alt i did say the movie had a pretty long runtime but this isn’t final.

With a three-hour runtime, Five Nights at Freddy’s would join the ranks of films like Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, Ari Aster’s Beau Is Afraid, and Martin Scorsese’s upcoming Western, Killers of the Flower Moon, rumored to span 3 hours and 26 minutes.
The reasoning behind Five Nights at Freddy’s needing a three-hour runtime is a mystery to us, and it appears that many fans echo this sentiment based on their reactions (if you can pick up on the sarcasm). Even Andy Muschietti’s It Chapter Two, which was 10 minutes shy of the three-hour mark, drew complaints from audiences about its lengthy runtime.
I have mixed feelings if this is true. On one hand, I think this isn’t a bad idea if they are going heavily into the FNaF lore. On the other hand, I’m afraid the pacing will likely suffer from this movie’s length, causing the story to be boring at some points

Why 3 hours and not five Nights?

Reddit users also seem to think that the film should receive an additional trailer in the event that it does, in fact, have a three-hour runtime.
Blumhouse films typically clock in at just under two hours, so this is a major departure from the studio’s usual pattern. However, Cryptic4KQual mentions that the current runtime isn’t final, which indicates that Five Nights at Freddy’s might lean towards a more conservative duration, although this remains purely speculative for now.
Based on the popular video game series of the same name by Scott Cawthon, Five Nights at Freddy’s centers around a certain Mike Schidmt (portrayed by Josh Hutcherson), a troubled security guard who accepts a night shift job at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. Little does he know that the seemingly harmless animatronic mascots, Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, awaken at midnight and kill anyone within their reach.
As of writing, Five Nights at Freddy’s is set for a dual release in cinemas and on Peacock on October 27. However, there’s a strong possibility that Universal Pictures could postpone its release if the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike remains unresolved.
