The first full trailer of Black Adam is set to launch tomorrow, June 9. In the meantime, Warner Bros. Picture is teasing fans with a brand new poster to help drum up hype for the upcoming DC Extended Universe film.
The first official Black Adam poster shows the titular anti-hero, who will be played by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, sporting the Kahndaq royalty's iconic black suit along with a dimly lit lightning bolt on the chest, perhaps signifying that he is no longer the Champion of Shazam!. The poster is also setting the stage for the character's inverted take on justice. The tagline reads, "The world needed a hero. It got Black Adam."
Much has been said about Black Adam getting to this point, and it deserves nothing but all the praise in the world.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has lobbied hard for the Black Adam movie since 2007. But, it wasn't just because of his "unusual" premise for a starring role in a film that made getting a Black Adam project off the ground. The DCEU also had to work out how to integrate Black Adam into the cinematic universe. After all, Black Adam is a former champion of Shazam! and Shazam! exists in the DCEU. Thankfully, the Johnson-led project is finally close to hitting the big screen.
