Dwayne Johnson confirms new Black Adam Trailer release date

After going through reshoots nearly a year after initial filming wrapped up, the DCEU is finally ready to reveal more of the Dwayne Johnson-led superhero film.

Aquaman 2 might be the upcoming DC film that people are talking about (and for all the wrong reasons), but Black Adam is the next one on the docket.

Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam could help kickstart a new phase for the DCEU with him as the pillar.

After an initial delay, Dwayne Johnson is finally set to make his debut in October, and the former WWE superstar couldn't help but share more info ahead of its release in one of his trademark Instagram posts.

According to the Red Notice actor, the "World Premiere Trailer" of Black Adam will come out on June 8.

So, if you've been waiting for a more in-depth look at Black Adam after its debut trailer last year, you won't have to wait for too long.

The long-gestating movie is Johnson's passion project and he's not shy about letting all of his fans know about it. In his many Instagram posts, Johnson has acknowledged how long he has waited to get the project up and running.

Just to give you an idea of how long Johnson has lobbied to make a Black Adam film, he was first linked to the anti-hero back in 2007. The Marvel Cinematic Universe didn't even exist then, let alone the DC Extended Universe.

Judging by how much work and effort Johnson puts into his projects, we can expect Black Adam to deliver.

With all the hype Johnson has generated for Black Adam in the past year, it'd be a shock if the film didn't make bank in October.

The question now is, just how big is Black Adam going to become? The DCEU hasn't enjoyed a billion-dollar outing since 2018's Aquaman and it was its biggest box office win yet. This year's The Batman was expected to make as much (it's not a part of the DCEU), but it ultimately failed and only made $770 million at the global box office.

Will Johnson's star power be enough to bring in audiences in droves? More importantly, can the film give the likes of Avatar: The Way of Water, Thor: Love and Thunder as well as Black Panther: Wakanda Forever a run for their money as the biggest movie of 2022? We'll find out more on October 21.
