The fictional, artificially superintelligent computer system is an antagonist-turned-deuteragonist in one of the most iconic characters from Valve's first-person puzzle-platformer title, Portal.
Initially, GLaDOS served as a guiding voice for players in the first game of the series, Portal. Then, slowly, GLaDOS would reveal her malicious intent. This led to a confrontation between the AI and players, which**, SPOILER ALERT!,**ultimately led to the destruction of GLaDOS.
In the sequel, Portal 2, GLaDOS would return, albeit in a less powerful form.
Now stuck on a potato battery, GLaDOS would reluctantly help out the player battle a new threat, all the while providing some witty banter and dialogue that made her and her voice so iconic.
