Last year, we published a post about why you should feel excited about Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis. The compilation of everything FF7 might be a mobile game with a financial motive, but if it's a comprehensive retelling of everything that happened from Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII to Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, then most will gladly pay a premium for it.
Over a year after it was initially revealed at the first-ever Square Enix Presents showcase, the Japanese publisher has dropped more details about the upcoming mobile game.
As revealed at the FF7 25th anniversary broadcast, Square Enix will hold a closed beta test for Ever Crisis later this year. In addition, some new footage gives us a glimpse of what the game's combat system will look like and how microtransactions will work. As you can see in the video, players can dress up the characters in distinctive outfits. Square Enix confirms it will monetize certain aspects of Ever Crisis' gameplay such as weaponry and, quite possibly, cosmetics. However, the meat of the game, which is the story chapters, will all be available for free.
