Cybersleuths weren't content with spotting the recent rating for Final Fantasy 16 in Brazil. Some actually took the time to translate it to English and we found out an interesting detail. Apparently, Yoshi-P wasn't bluffing when he said that FF16 will be more mature when you compare it to previous entries.
A Reddit translation of the Brazil rating of FF16 confirms the game will have the following: Sex scenes not fully shown Violent content International deaths Torture Drugs Prostitution Sexual content Hate crimes
The Final Fantasy franchise has never been child-friendly but you don't typically associate it with mature content. FF games are typically T-rated for as long as most can remember. But, the franchise has been starting to push the boundaries in recent years.
Case in point, Final Fantasy VII Remake, which was rated "T" by the ESRB, showed alcohol and tobacco use as well as excessive violence. It even hinted at sex trafficking. Not to mention, Cloud Strife and the rest of the crew were actually part of an eco-terrorist group and Shinra literally dropped an entire colony on top of another.
