We might be only a few weeks away from a new Final Fantasy 16 trailer

Some believe that the Final Fantasy 16 trailer will be showcased at a State of Play event.

Final Fantasy 16 is coming out next summer. But, with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth set to come in the same year, fans are eager to find out when exactly the next mainline Final Fantasy game will hit store shelves.

While we’ve no clue about the game’s release date, Naoki Yoshida did confirm that we’ll be getting a new trailer in a few weeks.

According to Yoshida during the NGC livestream, a new FF16 trailer will be released soon. In addition to this, Yoshida, otherwise known to fans as “Yoshi-P”, expressed confidence that the story of FF16 will deliver a “thrilling rollercoaster ride from beginning to end.”

Coincidentally, Yoshida’s statement coincides with rumors that a State of Play showcase will take place later this month.

We can take consolation in the fact that Final Fantasy 16 didn't go through a messy development period unlike Final Fantasy 15.

We’re still curious about how Square Enix will juggle releasing three big AAA titles in quick succession. Keep in mind that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will launch just months following the arrival of Final Fantasy 16. Not to mention, Forspoken is still on for a January 24 launch. It’s a lot in a single year for a company that’s traditionally conservative.

It wouldn’t surprise us if we get a mid-year announcement that FF7 Rebirth, the last of the three, has been pushed back to early 2024.

Regardless of what happens, the next two years are going to be huge for the Final Fantasy franchise, starting with the release of the FF7 Crisis Core remake in December.
