Fast X, the tenth – and possibly penultimate – installment of the Fast and Furious franchise, is set to debut in theaters this week.

According to Deadline's projections, the film will gross $235 million overseas and $60+ in the US and Canada.

While the total projected gross of $295 million is in itself an impressive feat, it is less so when compared to other films in the franchise with 2017's Fate of the Furious earning $541.9 million and 2015's Furious 7 grossing $397.6 million on their respective debuts.

Fast X will debut in 4,000 theaters in the US and Canada before launching in 81 overseas markets, including the UK, France, Australia, Italy, Brazil, South Korea, Mexico, Belgium, and China.

Of particular significance is the film's China debut where the franchise has proven very popular. Since the release of Fast & Furious 6 in 2013, the franchise has grossed over $1.2 billion in that country alone.

Fast X will follow Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto and his family as they find themselves dealing with a vengeful psychopath in Jason Momoa's Dante Reyes who threatens their very existence. Reyes, the son of drug kingpin Hernan Reyes, has it out against Toretto and his crew for the loss of his family's fortune.
