It appears that the end of the racing franchise that first burst into the scene back in 2001 with The Fast and the Furious is going to take a bit longer than expected. As the series enters its final stretch, word has it that the penultimate movie isn't going to premiere at its original date. The good news here though, is that the delay won't be for too long.

Fast and Furious is about to come to an end

Guardians of the Galaxy film and the ninth mainline Fast and Furious movie both make over a billion each.

Before you go and feel too sad about the Fast & Furious delay, Universal Pictures' new premiere date for the upcoming film isn't too far. Instead of launching on April 10, 2023, Fast & Furious will arrive a little over a month later on May 19, 2023. The movie will replace an "untitled event" film on Universal's schedule.

Universal did not give any reason why it decided to push Fast & Furious 10 back by more than a month, but we theorize that the studio might be looking to take advantage of the Memorial Day weekend. Regardless of Universal's reason, the re-scheduling makes for an interesting coincidence for Vin Diesel; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will come out on May 5, 2023. If things go well, Diesel might be one of the few actors in Hollywood (if not the only one) to star in two billion-dollar movies that premiered in the same month.
