In what's sure to go over well with fans of the Final Fantasy franchise, Final Fantasy 7Producer Yoshinori Kitase has revealed that certain fan theories are trending in the right direction, which is why he and the game's director, Naoki Hamaguchi, are staying away from online discussions because they're afraid someone might guess correctly.

Kitase's recent statement came in a PlayStation Access interview on February 22 where the pair discussed the strong response that the remake trilogy has so far elicited from the Final Fantasy community.

Kitase, in particular, shared that he sometimes goes online to read fan discussions, but he's also afraid someone might get it right. He adds some people go to extreme lengths to try and connect the dots. Although he admits that some theories are off the mark, he added others are accurate. Thus, it wouldn't be surprising if Kitase ultimately decides to avoid reading online theories so it doesn't have a negative effect on how the development team handles the entire trilogy's ending.

Earlier this month, a theory regarding the ending to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth went viral and has yet to be denied nor confirmed.

Just last week, FF7 Rebirth Creative Director Tetsuya Nomura pleaded fans to keep the spoilers to a minimum after the review embargo lifted. This request comes after the sequel received critical acclaim ahead of its release on February 29.
