Fan creates fake GTA 6 maps to prove a point

A fan showed just how easy it is to make fake GTA 6 maps and trick people into believing they are legit.

Remember, don't believe everything that you see on the internet.

We only know two things for certain about Grand Theft Auto 6: it’s currently in development and it will set creative benchmarks.

Unfortunately, outside of the recent massive hiring push, we know little about GTA 6. This is a good way to explain why fans are quick to jump on every GTA 6 leak. But, it appears that some are a little too eager to believe everything that they see. One fan, in particular, took it upon themselves to prove just how thirsty fans are for GTA 6 news by fabricating a fake map and peddling it as legit info for GTA 6.

I created a gta 6 map menu to help prove how easy it is for people to make “high quality leaks”(and for fun!) this isnt “high quality” but i made it in my free time for the last week and a half. if someone better than me spend weeks or months working on something they can make it look professional.

As one user put it, it’s only a matter of time before someone claims that they “found it on 4chan or the forums.” The fan claims to have created the “high-quality” leak in their free time. This would imply that someone could create a more believable leak with more time and effort.

Of course, since this is the internet we’re talking about, another user couldn’t help but joke about it. As they point out, the footage is from GTA 6 and the OP is a Rockstar employee.

Having said that, this should serve as a lesson to any GTA fan. As the old adage goes, “just because you’ve read something on the internet, doesn’t mean it’s true.”

There's really nothing we can do about fake GTA 6 leaks.

Speaking of the truth, Vince Gilligan, the creator of the Breaking Bad universe, revealed that he wanted to make a GTA-like game set in the award-winning cinematic universe. Also, Leslie Benzies just unveiled his upcoming game, Everywhere, at Gamescom 2022. This will serve as the former GTA producer’s first big project since leaving Rockstar Games in 2016.
