You can fake just about anything these days, but you'd expect gamers, who are no strangers to trolls and made-up news, to be more "informed" compared to the casual audience. But, this was not the case on Twitter earlier this week after news of a Bloodborne remaster broke out.

The culprit behind the fake Bloodborne remaster news comes from @Nlbellion, which is a spoof account based on credible leaker, @Nibellion.

As per the fake account, "Bloodborne remastered is coming to PS5 in August 2022 and PC in Q2 2023." Thanks to a combination of legit-looking phrasing and a blink-and-you-will-miss-it link to an official PlayStation blog post, plenty fell for the prank, including prominent influencers and personalities in the video game industry.

On a more serious note, it definitely feels like Sony wasting the opportunity as it refuses to port Bloodborne to the PS5 and the PC. Bloodborne still looks and plays great on the PS4 and the PS4 Pro, but the poor frame rates as well as the loading times definitely hurt. The gothic horror action RPG, which many consider FromSoftware's best work, deserves better. Even if a PC port doesn't come, many will "settle" for a PS5 version with 4K60 support as well as HDR compatibility, among several other quality-of-life improvements.
