Bruce Campbell has given fans a first look at the forthcoming film, Evil Dead Rise. The actor, who serves as one of the film's executive producers, posted the image to his Twitter account with the caption "Trick or treat, Deadites. Here is the first peek at Evil Dead Rise – in theaters April 21. #EvilDeadRise."
Campbell's image shows one of the franchise's most recognizable characters, a female Deadite, staring through a peephole with a creepy grin on her face. The hole she is peeping through has blood splattered on it.
At the moment, Warner Bros. Pictures has only released Evil Dead Rise's synopsis. It reads:
In the fifth Evil Dead film, a road-weary Beth pays an overdue visit to her older sister Ellie, who is raising three kids on her own in a cramped L.A. apartment. The sisters' reunion is cut short by the discovery of a mysterious book deep in the bowels of Ellie's building, giving rise to flesh-possessing demons, and thrusting Beth into a primal battle for survival as she is faced with the most nightmarish version of motherhood imaginable.
