You might not have seen much of Elijah Wood in big films of late, but he hasn't taken a hiatus from filming. In fact, he's remained quite active. It's just that after landing a big role as one of the lead characters in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy as Frodo Baggins, the 40-year-old actor has chosen to star in relatively smaller films.
Now, it appears that Wood is ready for the challenges that being part of a bigger movie franchise bring, after expressing his desire to join one.
Does Wood have a place in the MCU or Star Wars universe?
In an ET Online interview, The Lord of the Rings actor mentioned that he was a "huge Star Wars fan" and that it "would be awesome" to join a live-action Star Wars film, especially because he hasn't had a chance "to play in a giant sandbox in a while."
