The solo Iron Man game might not be as far away from launch as once thought as EA has already begun playtesting for the game.

Wouldn't it be something if Robert Downey Jr. voiced Tony Stark in EA's Iron Man game?

If we believe the recent reports, EA Motive’s Iron Man game might not be as far away from its launch as we might think.

According to Insider Gaming, EA Motive has started the playtesting phase for its upcoming game. Specifically, the playtesting sessions run from October 31 to November 2.

Before you get too optimistic, EA will not show actual gameplay during this period. Instead, this 1-on-1 test will involve asking players for feedback on potential gameplay features such as plot points and game modes as well as so much more.

Here’s what’s written on the EA Playtest website:

Get an inside look at a game/product and talk through experience directly with an EA Researcher. They will ask you questions about your experiences, preferences, and other areas of interest. These conversations typically last between 30 and 120 minutes and may happen online or in person at one of our Player Experience Labs.

Hopefully, EA can do Iron Man better than Marvel’s Avengers.

If nothing else, it wouldn’t surprise us much that EA Motive has put in a ton of work on the Iron Man project. It’s worth noting that rumors of the Iron Man game have been floating since at least the first half of this year. At the time, details about EA’s Marvel game were a bit murky.

Then, one source after another and then another all corroborated the same info. Before we knew it, EA had confirmed the game.

Olivier Proulx, who worked on last year’s The Guardians of the Galaxy game, will helm EA Motive’s Iron Man game. Similar to the GOTY contender, the Iron Man title will feature an original Tony Stark story.

Having said that, fans shouldn’t expect to see gameplay footage until next year if not two years from now. All signs indicate that EA Motive is still early in the game’s development. Since it’s still busy working on Dead Space ahead of its launch in January, EA Motive has its hands full with more pressing matters.

The Iron Man game might fill the still gaping hole left by RDJ’s departure from the MCU.

Speaking of Dead Space, the co-creator’s newest game, The Callisto Protocol, won’t be available to play in Japan due to censorship issues. Given their similarity in terms of violence and gore, Japanese gamers shouldn’t expect Dead Space to land on their shores as well.
