EA is restructuring its operations as the company looks to reevaluate its investments and reduce office space. As part of its latest move, EA announced that it's cutting 6% of its workforce.

EA CEO Andrew Wilson announced the latest job cuts in a blog post on Wednesday.

According to Wilson, the company wants to move away from non-contributing projects and reduce its real estate footprint. This new round of job cuts comes after the game publisher let go of an entire quality assurance team for Apex Legends in Louisiana.

"As we drive greater focus across our portfolio, we are moving away from projects that do not contribute to our strategy, reviewing our real estate footprint, and restructuring some of our teams," Wilson said. "These decisions are expected to impact approximately six percent of our company's workforce."

EA reportedly had around 13,000 employees last year. This means that around 780 employees are going to be affected by the layoffs.
