We're only a month away from the delayed launch of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which means it is the perfect time to drop a new trailer. EA and Respawn have just unveiled a new story teaser for the upcoming game, and it has gotten fans excited.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a follow-up to 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. It continues the story of Cal Kestis, who is one of the last surviving Jedi Knights after Order 66. Survivor is set five years after the events of Fallen Order and a decade after the Jedi Purge.
"The dark times are closing in as Cal Kestis seeks out a safe haven far from the reach of the Empire," the trailer description reads. "Follow Cal and his crew’s increasingly desperate fight as the galaxy descends further into darkness."
The new trailer reveals that fan-favorite characters Greez Ditzus and Merrin are returning to the upcoming Star Wars action adventure. The pair were instrumental to the plot of the first game and will see more screen time in the sequel.
The trailer also shows off the new character designs for Greez and Merrin given that five years have passed since the events of the first game. Merrin is rocking a new hairstyle while Greez is sporting a new arm.
Game director Stig Asmussen recently revealed that he wants to make Star Wars Jedi a trilogy.
"I always wanted to see this as a trilogy," Asmussen said in an interview earlier this year. "How can we take Cal and the crew to new places beyond what we were doing in the first game?"
He adds, "We had a pretty decent idea of the timeframe where we wanted Survivor to take place, what the stakes were going to be, what the tone of the game was going to be, what Cal was going to be up against, and how the crew was going to factor into that. And there's ideas of what we could do beyond that as well."
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on April 28.
