Dungeons & Dragons is one of the most popular tabletop role-playing games of all time. The game, first published in 1974, has spawned a franchise that includes an animated television series, comics, and computer games. It also inspired a trilogy that ran from 2000 to 2012 and efforts to further the series proved abortive as Warner Bros. Pictures, Paramount Pictures, and Hasbro were embroiled in a lawsuit for the film rights.

Fortunately, for fans of the game franchise, the film rights ended up with Paramount Pictures and filming began in 2021. We got the first trailer for the film last July, and now, according to Collider, we just found out that the long-gestating project is going to be 2 hours and 17 minutes long.
