Star Wars is one of the few franchises that can proudly claim that it's had a lot of hits, as far as video game adaptations go.
You don't need to look further than our list of the best Star Wars games to know that this is an IP that has done its source material right, more often than not. Now, it appears that Disney wants to do more with Star Wars.
According to an Insider Gaming report, Disney has asked Lucasfilm to find a way to release at least one Star Wars video game every six months. Specifically, staggering the "AAA" titles with smaller releases.
Here's a list of all the confirmed Star Wars games in development at the moment: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor - Respawn Entertainment Star Wars: Hunters - Zynga Knights of the Old Republic Remake - Saber Interactive Star Wars: Eclipse - Quantic Dream Amy Hennig's Game -Skydance Media Untitled FPS game - Respawn Entertainment Untitled Strategy Game - Respawn Entertainment Untitled Open World Game - Ubisoft Massive Outside of Zynga's Star Wars: Hunters and possibly also Respawn Entertainment's Untitled Strategy Game, the other six qualify as "AAA" titles. This would suggest that the next set of Star Wars games to be announced will be considered smaller projects. Then again, the report didn't indicate that Disney and Lucasfilm are sticking to just two titles a year. If we're lucky, we'll get one every quarter, but that would be wishful thinking.
