After seven years of waiting, Pokémon fans are finally getting a remake. Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are the upcoming remakes of Diamond and Pearl, respectively, which were released back in 2006 for the Nintendo DS. Naturally, it's going to be a full-on nostalgia blast for fans who grew up playing the said Pokémon games, which saw the debut of the fourth generation of Pokémon like Arceus, Darkrai, and Regigas, among others.
With that said, it appears that the upcoming Pokémon remake might deviate from the previous remakes - and not for the better.
Are new Pokémon going to appear in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl?
Nintendo has always added new features to its remakes. This is what Nintendo has done since it released FireRed and LeafGreen in 2004 for the Game Boy Advance. For example, FireRed and LeafGreen let players choose whether to play as a boy or a girl. In addition to this, Pokémon in FireRed and LeafGreen had natures, abilities, genders, and could even hold items. The first-gen remakes also added Pokémon that didn't existed in the 90s when Nintendo first released Red, Blue, and Yellow.
