Almost immediately since then, audiences have wondered if a sequel was ever going to come. Now, the series' director, creator and writer has an answer.
When is Netflix's Squid Game Season 2 going to release?
According to an interview with the Associated Press last Tuesday, Hwang Dong-hyuk confirmed that Season 2 of Squid Game is already "in the planning process" and that "Gi-Hun will come back, and he will do something for the world.
This might be the worst-kept secret in streaming TV today, but it's still nice to know that a sequel to Netflix's chaotic hit series is officially coming. Of course, this isn't the first time that Hwang Dong-hyuk has talked about Season 2 of Squid Game before.
