Diablo 4 release date and open beta early access details revealed during The Game Awards 2022

Diablo 4 has been the subject of many leaks and rumors that are now starting to come to fruition courtesy of some official Diablo 4 details shared at The Game Awards 2022. Blizzard revealed that the game will be released on June 6, 2023, which corroborates the previous leaks.

During The Game Awards, following Halsey’s powerful performance of the song ‘Lilith,’ Blizzard shared a cinematic trailer showing all Diablo 4’s new enemies, as well as the game’s main antagonist who bears the same name as the song Lilith. We get to see the game’s release date at the end of the cinematic trailer.

Diablo 4 features a brand new open world for players to explore and loot. Diablo 4 tones it down when it comes to the vibrant colors of Diablo 3 to give a darker, more sinister feeling that is in line with the older Diablo titles that fans of the series were previously enthralled by.

According to the team at Blizzard, the game has the fluidity of Diablo 3, but the grisly and spine-chilling aesthetics of the previous Diablo titles.

The team has taken a more tactical approach with Diablo 4, ensuring that every move counts and that ultimately ties into how the players approach each objective.

Apparently the Diablo 4 features an element of choice and freedom to complete certain objectives, how players themselves want to. In addition, we learnt that players who pre-order the game can also look forward to the open beta access. The closed beta was already available to a handful of players. But now, a larger player base can experience the fight between the Heavenly deities and devilish beasts.

Diablo 4 has been one of the most-anticipated games, ever since its announcement trailer at the BlizzCon 2019 opening ceremony. Fans can rejoice too, as they don’t need to wait all that long to get their hands on the game. Diablo 4 will release across all platforms on June 6, 2023. Diablo 4 has three editions: Standard (costs $70), Digital Deluxe ($90), and Ultimate Edition ($100).
