Marvel's Midnight Suns developer, Firaxis Games, announced the game's new release date via a gameplay trailer at the recently concluded D23 Expo. During the Marvel Showcase at the Disney biennial fan event, the developer revealed the strategic role-playing game will be released on December 2, 2022.

Marvel's Midnight Suns was originally scheduled for a March release. However, Take-Two Interactive, Firaxis Games's parent company, announced that the game would be delayed till October 7, 2022. In August, the company further pushed back the release date to "later this fiscal year".

To explain their decision, Firaxis released an announcement. "After discussion with the team, we've made the decision to move back the launch timing of Marvel's Midnight Suns to ensure we are delivering the best possible experience for our fans. We will launch later this fiscal year on Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, with the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch versions following at a later date," the announcement read.
