Death Stranding Director's Cut, an upgrade to Kojima Productions' 2019 PlayStation-exclusive title, is coming for the PlayStation 5.
Kojima Productions confirmed the "enhanced and expanded" version of Death Stranding on Thursday, June 10. The studio's announcement came with a nearly 3-minute long teaser. It showcased Sam Bridges, the protagonist of Death Stranding that was played by Norman Reedus, somewhere on an underwater level.
Not one to let an opportunity to be cheeky slip by, the trailer for Death Stranding Director's Cut also featured a reference to Kojima's lovechild, Metal Gear, with Sam trying to figure out how to equip a box. Hideo Kojima himself was the one responsible for breaking the news for Death Stranding Director's Cut.
The enigmatic auteur stopped by over at the Summer Game Fest to showcase the latest trailer for the PS5 version of Death Stranding. As is always the case with Kojima, the reveal was as weird as it was hype-worthy.
Unfortunately, while the announcement of Death Stranding Director's Cut is good news for those who loved Kojima's latest title, the trailer didn't really give much information. Kojima nor his studio confirmed a release date either. At this point, all we know is that this is going to come to the PlayStation 5. Everything else is unknown.
