Dead Island 2 has finally gone gold and will release a week early

Dambuster Studios took over in 2019 and has finally overseen the completion of the much-awaited sequel. Dambuster is an internal studio within Deep Silver that was set up to develop Homefront: The Revolution and eventually Dead Island 2. What can players expect from Dead Island 2? The different districts of HELL-A will have its own unique types of zombies.

Dead Island 2 takes place several months after the conclusion of the first game. The state of California has been placed under quarantine following a zombie outbreak. Players will venture into downtown Los Angeles, nicknamed HELL-A, and take control of one of six playable characters.

Each character will have their own unique personality and dialogue. Players can fully customize the abilities of each Slayer using the game's skill system ,allowing for some over-the-top builds.

The sequel will be a first-person shooter and feature brutal melee combat. Players can craft weapons from materials they can scavenge in the environment.

HELL-A will feature several districts within the map. Each of these districts will have its own unique set of zombies to match the surrounding area. Muscle Beach, for example, has some steroid-enhanced zombies.

Dead Island 2 will also feature a co-op mode. Gamers can create a team of up to three players to complete quests and survive the brutal streets of Los Angeles.

Dead Island 2 is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on April 21, 2023.
