Few Hollywood names are synonymous with the words "big", "burly", "charismatic", and "athletic" like Dave Bautista. So, is it all that surprising for audiences to fan-cast him as part of Gears of War? It also helps that Dave Bautista is vocal about his desire to join Netflix's upcoming live-action adaptation of Microsoft's marquee cover shooter franchise.
Bautista recently sat down with Variety to talk about his latest movie, Knock at the Cabin. When asked about his comments on the Gears of War movie, Bautista had this to say: I really hope they will. It's a part that I've sought after for years and I feel like I could bring a lot of heart to Marcus Fenix. I really would. I think I would do that part justice. I feel confident in it, so hopefully it'll come my way and we'll be having this conversation in a different way sometime. Hollywood hasn't always had the best time with casting passionate actors into "obvious" roles. Case in point, fans were sure that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson would nail it as Black Adam. Instead, the movie flamed out and the Brahma Bull is already out of the DC Universe.
