Cory Barlog has worn many hats throughout his career in the video game industry, most of which he’s spent with Santa Monica Studio. Most recently, Barlog was the creative director and the producer of God of War: Ragnarok. Going forward, Sony might want to offer Barlog the post of the God of Custom Relations over at Sony Interactive Entertainment.
God of War: Ragnarok might be one-half of the two frontrunners for the Game of the Year award at The Game Awards in December after pulling in the second-highest average rating from critics but it has faced its fair share of controversies.
Early leaks aside, a handful of God of War: Ragnarok owners haven’t played the game yet because their copies didn’t ship without the digital code.
Apparently, a shipping error is affecting mostly Collector’s Edition owners. After paying $199.99 for a handful of real-life game-related items and in-game cosmetics, they ended up getting everything but the digital code for God of War: Ragnarok. The problem is prevalent enough to the point that a Reddit user has since created a Twitter account, @HelpUsSMS, to compile all the related errors. To make matters worse, the growing list of complainants has found their cries falling on deaf ears as Sony hasn’t done anything to resolve the said issues nearly a week after God of War: Ragnarok came out on November 9.
Users report Sony and the concerned retailers are giving aggrieved parties the runaround. After Sony responded to one of the reports by telling concerned individuals to contact the retailers, the sellers then referred them back to Sony.

As you can see, you’re better off arguing with Thor than asking Sony for a refund. At least, the God of Thunder will just pummel you with Mjolnir until you’re down.
Thankfully, Cory Barlog has stepped in to try and solve the situation. One buyer claims they got a code from Barlog in a Direct Message on Twitter.
Kudos to Barlog for helping out however he can. Unfortunately, this is a big problem that Barlog alone can’t solve. Sony needs to hold itself accountable and compensate the players who supported God of War: Ragnarok the most.
