Just a few days away from the reveal of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, many fans of the series that have invested time and money into Modern Warfare 2 are worried that they will again be starting from scratch when the new game releases - however, an announcement is here to put those fears to rest.

According to a Call of Duty blog post, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will have a feature that the devs call "carry forward", bringing content from the previous game to the upcoming title. The publisher also detailed what content will be included and excluded from the system.

"The term "Carry Forward" simply refers to content currently available to players in Modern Warfare II and the current version of Call of Duty: Warzone (such as weapons and cosmetic content, including Bundles, Operators, and other rewards and unlocks from the game), and how much of it will be accessible in Modern Warfare III," Activision wrote.

"Content previously described — weapons and cosmetic content, examples of which are shown in the above image — that has been previously unlocked or is currently available to players in MWII, will carry forward between MWII and MWIII."
