Chris Pratt and Charlie Day discuss easter eggs in The Super Mario Bros. Movie

"But there are a lot," Pratt said of the easter eggs in the film. "I've only seen the movie full one time. So, I'm going to go back and see [it] this weekend with my son and I'm excited to like find some more [easter eggs]."

The host proceeds to share some of the easter eggs that they found. The actors gamely reacted to the references in the movie.

The first reference pointed out by the host was a shop called Chasse au Canard. The shop name is French for duck hunting which is a reference to a popular hunting game on the Nintendo Entertainment System called Duck Hunt.

"That makes sense," Pratt states. "You know the film, you know the Illumination Animation Group is all Parisian. They're in Paris. That must be why they put Chasse au Canard."

According to Taylor-Foster, Bowser's piano is made by Ludvig von Koopa. This is the name of the eldest Koopalings, Bowser's henchmen in the video game series.

There is also another shop in the movie called Disk-kun. This is the name of the mascot for the Famicom Disc System which came out in 1986.

The final easter egg from the movie discussed during the interview was a scene where Mario and Luigi are seen with their gloves off. Taylor-Foster shared that there is a thread on Reddit that lists down the times that the duo were seen without their gloves in the video games.

"You can't eat dinner with your gloves on," Day said. "You're gonna get spaghetti sauce all over them."

Pratt adds, "I love that bit. They're like white gloves. You know? You gotta have a signature."

There are loads more easter eggs found in the movie. There is a reference to Punchout, the Donkey Kong games, and Regular Guiseppe. The movie also references Jump Man, the original character from Donkey Kong which Mario was based on.
