Chris Hemsworth has always been vocal about his desire to end the Thor film series on a high note. The actor has said that he would be returning as the God of Thunder only if that is what fans want to see, and that any hypothetical fifth Thor film should go beyond the expected.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly for the release of Extraction 2, Hemsworth revealed that he has had conversations about returning for Thor 5. However, nothing is set in stone at this point. The actor adds that he will definitely return once again with the right script.

"I've got to be careful how I word that because I have no idea what's happening in the next phase," Hemsworth said. "There's always conversations, like with Extraction. Before anything is official, people are throwing around ideas. But officially, I don't know."

Thor has undergone a major shift from Thor: The Dark World to Thor: Ragnarok. The tone of the movies has started to lean more towards the humorous side of Thor rather than the dark and brooding God who yearns for war. Director Taika Waititi can be credited with the lighter, laidback version of the character appearing on-screen.
