Chenyu’s Blessings of Sunken Jade is a main world quest introduced in the new Chenyu Vale area connecting Fontaine and Liyue.
This quest does not have any marker, but it will automatically start once you enter the new area (Chenyu Vale). As soon as you enter the new area, you will get a cutscene, initiating the quest where you will meet a Golden Carp Adeptus named Fujin.
This world quest has four sub-quests, including a sequel that unlocks the new “tree offering system,” where you can offer your collected Spirit Carps for various rewards. Spirit Carp is a new collectible currency exclusive to the Chenyu Vale area.
While most of the quests in Genshin Impact are linear, the puzzles can sometimes get confusing for the players. In this guide, we’ve covered every puzzle and their solutions.
We’ve organized each sub-quest individually to make it simpler for you to navigate through this guide or begin from wherever you currently find yourself in this world quest.
Qiaoying of the Sacred Mountain
When you enter the new Chenyu Vale area, you will automatically get a cutscene where you will be introduced to a Golden Carp Adeptus named Fujin.
Once the dialogue ends, continue following the quest until you meet up with Grandpa Luo and regroup with him at the teamaking workshop. You will get a cutscene after which you must leave the Qiaoying Village by following the quest marker.
You will find the Golden Carp right outside the village. Follow the carp until you come across an adeptal energy “grappling hook.” These are similar to the “grappling hooks” found in Sumeru. However, traversing through these transform you into a glowing Golden Carp.
Interact with it by pressing your designated key (‘T’ on PC), and aim towards the Golden Carp you were following and shoot yourself towards it to continue.
Small Pond Puzzle
You will arrive at place with a small pond surrounded by some treasure hoarders. There is a puzzle here that you must solve to proceed. First, take out all the treasure hoarders around the pond.
After that, look towards the big “lotus flower” in the middle of the pond and you will see an adeptal energy icon (similar to the one you see when using the Golden Carp “grappling hook” traversal).
Pick it up and you will have a adeptal radius around you. To solve this puzzle, you must light up all the petal buds around the pond using this adeptal energy.
Once done, the puzzle will be solved, and the Golden Carp will come out of the pond. You will get another cutscene, after which you must go to Yilong Wharf by following the quest marker. If you’ve already visited the place, you can use the teleport waypoint to get there.
When you get to Yilong Wharf, you will get another cutscene, after which this sub-quest will be completed, and the next sub-quest, ‘Floating Jade, Treasure of Chenyu,’ will automatically start.
Floating Jade, Treasure of Chenyu
Right after, you need to follow Little Mao to the waterfall right outside Yilong Wharf. Follow the quest marker to get to the waterfall.
You will find a breakable rock by the waterfall. Use your plunge attack, charged attack or a claymore character to break the rock to reveal an adeptal platform.
When you’re on the platform, use your adeptal energy to make it float. it will automatically fly up to the middle of the waterfal, blocking the water and creating an opening into the cave behind the waterfall.
Enter the cave and continue moving forward until you seen an intersection. Take left from the intersection and continue moving forward.
When you arrive at the location, you will find a mural wall covered in moss.
Once you’ve cleaned the moss, you will get another cutscene after which you will be teleported to the Yilong Wharf watchtower with Little Mao. After another short cutscene, you will be required to board the bamboo raft which will take you to the jademouth.
When you reach the jademouth, you must investigate two stone shrines and “restore” them using the adeptal energy.
Stone Shrine Puzzle 1
The first one is to the northeast of the jademouth teleport waypoint (both shrines are marked on the map for you, so don’t worry). When you get to the first stone shrine, you will find a bunch of treasure hoarders.
Defeat them all, and then use your adeptal energy (by pressing ‘T’) while looking at the shrine to “restore” it.
Stone Shrine Puzzle 2
The second stone shrine is just up the hill south of the jademouth teleport waypoint. When you reach the shrine, you will find four tea pot-shaped structures around the shrine along with two adeptal energy pots.
You need to “light up” all four tea pots. To do so, stand between the regular tea pot and the adeptal energy pot. When you’re in position, collect the adeptal energy and it will pass through the tea pot, lighting it up.
When you return to Little Mao at the base of the jademouth, look at jademouth and you will see an adeptal energy icon on it. Use your adeptal energy on the jademouth to create a whirlpool in the water and open up a secret entrance to an underground cave.
When you’re in, you will see the Golden Carp again. It will lead you to Votive Rainjade. The Votive Rainjade won’t be active and won’t have any power. You must redirect four adeptal energies towards it scattered inside the cave.
Scattered Adeptal Energy 1
Jump down, and you will find a hilichurl digging near a glowing spot. Eliminate the hilichurls and interact with the glowing spot. It will spawn several metallic structures. You can interact with them all, but only one of them is the correct one with the adeptal energy.
Simply interact with the one farthest away from you and it will release the adeptal energy. Interact with it and it will automatically be redirected towards the Votive Rainjade.
Scattered Adeptal Energy 2
After the second one, turn right (or south direction on the map), and you will find a glowing orb floating among some fireflies. Interact with it and it will release the adeptal energy but you must follow it for a while.
Keep following the adeptal energy and eliminate whatever enemies spawn on the way. You will eventually come across the “Beast Lord of Fuyu.”
Scattered Adeptal Energy 3
Continue following the adeptal energy “grappling hooks” to return to the main Votive Rainjade area where you started the chase from. You will find some hilichurls guarding a locked cage with a seelie inside it.
Follow the seelie and keep following it as it gets two more seelies on the way. The seelies will take you to the “dead end” with a lot of water. However, the seelies will lower the water level to almost zero, allowing you to go deeper.
You will find the third adeptal energy at the bottom once the water is lowered.
Continue moving forward with the seelies and you will eventually come into a room where you must solve a puzzle for the final adeptal energy.
Scattered Adeptal Energy 4
Once you’re in this area, first, use your adeptal energy to lift the pyro elemental monuments out of the water.
Once they’re lit, the final adeptal energy will be released in the middle of the room.
Once all the scattered adeptal energy has been recollected, return to the Votive Rainjade to collected it.
An Ancient Sacrifice of Sacred Brocade
Once you complete the previous quest, you will automatically be teleported outside of the area and right next to the Fogbank River, which is for ‘An Ancient Sacrifice of Sacred Brocade’ sub-quest.
When you get to the entrance of a small cave, you will get a cutscene meeting with “Bluey.” Her actual name is Lingyuan, revealed later in the quest.
After the cutscene ends, continue moving forward and cleanse the miasma. You can cure the miasma quite easily by defeating the enemies. However, the enemies will spawn indefinitely if you don’t do it correctly.
Once defeated, the top of the tree will start to glow. You can now use your adeptal energy to interact with it and cleanse it. You usually get two or three trees with miasma right next to each other.
After cleansing the area of miasma, enter the cavern ahead of you, and you will find another mural wall covered in moss. Use your adeptal energy to clean the moss and reveal its content.
Once you’ve cleaned the mural wall, the Golden Carp will once again spawn. Follow it to the lake side. You can walk on water, so continue following the Golden Carp. You will encounter some enemies on your way, but they’re easy to take out.
You will finally reach a large pedestal where the Golden Carp will transform back into Fujin. Now, you’re supposed to prepare for the Rainjade Rite by solving two puzzles on two small islands around the pedestal.
Rainjade Rite Puzzle 1
First, look down in the water to your left and you will see a seelie with something swimming around it. Interact with the swimming “creature” and some enemies will spawn. Take them out and the seelie will be “free.” Follow the seelie to its resting statue and it will spawn a Sacred Simulacrum.
Use your adeptal energy to pick it up and then hold your skill button to aim and place the Sacred Simulacrum on a glowing platform right next to you.
Rainjade Rite Puzzle 2
After that, go to the second island to your northwest and go up to the glowing platform.
Jump on the floating platform, and the wind current will spawn. Glide up using the wind current and jump on the next platform.
Once on it, another platform will spawn in the distance. It will have an adeptal energy icon on it. Use your adeptal energy to pull it closer so you can jump on it.
When you jump onto it, the next platform will be revealed, and hopping onto that one will spawn another.
Finally, a Golden Carp “grappling Hook” will spawn. Use it to get on the platform with the Sacred Simulacrum. Use your adeptal energy to pick it up and return to the island with the glowing platform.
Once you’ve done the second puzzle, return to Fuji by following the quest marker.
Next, you need to go to Adeptus’s Repose at the Yaodie Valley by following the quest marker. Once you are there, you will find some miasma-infested trees.
After clearing the miasma, the path ahead will open up. From here, first, pick up the Sacred Simulacrum to your right and continue moving up from the right side.
When you reach the top, place the Sacred Simulacrum on the glowing platform next to the golden fish mural and “check” the mural by interacting with it.
You will be teleported to the Chizhang Wall where you will find another mural wall. When you walk up to the wall, you will find Fujin. After a small cutscene, you will return to Adeptus’s Repose.
Next, you need to go to Mount Xuanlian. Once you get to the top of Mount Xuanlian, you need to solve three Spirit Orb puzzles.
Spirit Orb Puzzle 1
The first Spirit Orb is directly below you. Glide down while looking in the west direction. You will find a small island with a locked Spirit Orb. These Spirit Orbs initially do not have any “spirit” or “energy” in them. We fill them up with adeptal energy by solving these puzzles.
When you’re on the island with the Spirit Orb, look in the south direction, and you will find an adeptal energy pot. You can glide to it using the wind current. There is also an empty tea pot on the a small floating island. This is the same puzzle as before.
Glide back to the Spirit Orb island, and look in the northwest direction. Stand directly behind the empty tea pot, and send the energy through it and to the Adeptal Energy tea pot on a wooden platform across you.
Another island will float high up and the “large root” protruding out of the island leaks the adeptal energy into the Spirit Orb whenever it is directly above it.
Spirit Orb Puzzle 2
The second puzzle is directly north of here. First, use your adeptal energy to pick up the large root, and shift it to the left side, so that it is directly above the pedestal that will hold the empty Spirit Orb.
Next, use your adeptal energy to pick up the Sacred Simulacrum and place it on the floating platform directly next to it.
Use your adeptal energy to pick up the empty Spirit Orb and place it on the pedestal with the large root above it, leaking the adeptal energy onto the pedestal.
Spirit Orb Puzzle 3
The final puzzle is southwest of here. Go in the southwest direction, and you will find some hilichurls.
Pick up the empty Spirit Orb using your adeptal energy and place it on the platform farthest away from you.
After that, move the large energy leaking root from the right side to the left so that it is directly above the Spirit Orb.
Return to the pavilion on top of Mount Xuanlian and place all three Spirit Orbs inside the three carp statues.
After that, follow the quest marker to return to Fujin and talk to her. After talking to Fujin, the fog surrounding the area will be cleared and a whole new area will reveal itself before you.
Use the adeptal carp to cross the lake and get to the teleport waypoint. Once you reach the teleport waypoint, you need to follow the Golden Carp and climb the mountain.
Once you’ve climbed the mountain, you will eventually come across two Xuanwen Beast. Defeat them both to proceed with the quest. After defeating them, continue following Fujin to the Chiwang Terrace. When you get to the terrace, go around the terrace and defeat the miasma-infested enemies.
Once you’ve defeated all the miasma-infested enemies, a cutscene will play. After the cutscene, you will be teleported to Lingyuan where you will have a boss fight with her.
Return to Qiaoying Village to ensure Little Mao gets back home safely.
The Cloud Padded Path to The Chiwang Repose
The Cloud Padded Path to The Chiwang Repose is a small sequel quest to Chenyu’s Blessings of Sunken Jade.
Skipping the time will spawn the sequel world quest.
After speaking to Lingyuan, get closer to the floating jade ahead of you and use your adeptal energy to teleport to a secret area called Carp’s Rest.
There is also one teleport waypoint here which is automatically unlocked as soon as you enter the Carp’s Rest. You don’t have to manually unlock this one. All you have to do is enter Carp’s Rest.
Go deeper into the cavern to find Fujin. Once you’ve spoken to Fujin, the Rainjade Oblation will be unlocked.
Spirit Carps are exclusively found scattered all over the new Chenyu Vale area.
