CD Projekt Red used to be the darling of the video game industry. For years, the makers of The Witcher games could seemingly do no wrong. Then, 2020 came and Cyberpunk 2077 happened. From there, CDPR's reputation quickly tanked as the company found itself in hot water for numerous allegations, from workplace crunch, to over-hyping and overselling Cyberpunk 2077, among others.

With that said, CDPR has taken small steps towards regaining the trust of gamers, including finally making Cyberpunk 2077 playable on last-gen consoles like the PS4 and the Xbox One.

Unfortunately, just as CDPR takes a step forward, it appears to be taking a couple of steps backward as well. The lackluster content of Cyberpunk 2077's first set of DLC releases did not curry the game any favors. Now, CDPR is playing a dangerous game again by promising a late 2021 release window for next-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt without really guaranteeing it.

When are next-gen versions of Witcher 3 and CP2077 coming?
