Cast confirms timeline for Star Wars: Ashoka

The upcoming Disney+ series will be connected to the timeline of The Mandalorian and it will be linked to The Skeleton Crew as well.

Ahsoka will be set in the same timeline as other Disney+ shows.

Star Wars: Ahsoka is coming to Disney+ next month and fans wonder what timeline the series will take place. Many assume the upcoming TV series will take place after the events of Star Wars Rebels, but one of the show’s cast has confirmed its timeline is closer to another Disney+ series.

Natasha Liu Bordizzo, who plays Mandalorian warrior Sabine Wren, confirmed Ahsoka will have a concurrent timeline with The Mandalorian. Several other TV shows also run on a parallel timeline.

“I think it’s hard not to feel part of something bigger,” Bordizzo said in an interview with Games Radar. Ahsoka runs along the same timeline as The Mandalorian Season 3, and the shows are all connected. There’s just so many parallels.”

We assumed that this will be the case as Ahsoka, The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Skeleton Crew are building up to the upcoming Mandalorian movie directed by Dave Filoni. The film will serve as a climactic conclusion for the Disney+ Star Wars shows. Bordizzo also shared that she hopes to be part of The Mandalorian movie.

Natasha Liu Bordizzo plays Mandalorian Sabine Wren in Ahsoka.

“When I heard they were doing the movie, at Celebration in London [in April], I was like, ‘Maybe one day I’ll find out whether I’m a part of that!'” the actor shared. “This is one of those times when I can so happily tell you I have no idea what’s going on with that. I’m happy not to, because that way I don’t have to lie to you!”

The Mandalorian producer Jon Favreau confirms to Variety that the TV show will be linked to Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew. According to Favreau, he and director Dave Filoni mapped out the timeline and how to link the upcoming shows.

“Season 4, yeah I’ve written it already,” Favreau revealed. “We have to know where we’re going to tell a fully formed story. We had mapped it out, Dave [Filoni] and I, and slowly you start to write each episode. I was writing it during post-production. All of it has to feel like a continuation and one full story.”

Lucasfilm plans to have all Star Wars Disney+ series converge in the upcoming Mandalorian movie.

He adds, “[Dave’s] doing Ahsoka, which I’m producing with him. He’s the writer and showrunner on that. To understand what’s happening on other shows…. Skeleton Crew all take place within the same Star Wars time period. There’s a lot more things that we’ve got to keep in mind and also stuff that we’ve built up to from previous seasons of The Mandalorian as well.”

Ahsoka premieres on Disney+ on August 23.
