It's been all the talk of the town lately - Capcom still has one unannounced mystery title that the company estimates will sell millions. Unfortunately for fans of Resident Evil, it isn't going to be another remake like this year's Resident Evil 4, despite this being one of the top guesses.

According to known industry insider Dusk Golem, Capcom's mystery title planned for next year won't be Resident Evil. The leaker even called the 4chan rumors about a new Resident Evil remake "bollacks." He then added that "it's someone making shit up."

Dusk Golem also shared that the upcoming big Capcom game will be announced in late 2023 and released next year. The insider reemphasized his previous statement that it would not be a Resident Evil game.

Dusk Golem shared that Capcom will announce a new game later this year.

Last month, during the company's financial results presentation, Capcom revealed that the unannounced title will allow it to reach its sales targets for next year. While the publisher hasn't revealed the upcoming game, there are only a few titles within Capcom's library of IPs that can sell millions.
