Capcom might be rebooting the Dead Rising franchise

, Capcom is revisiting Dead Rising and it could be a reboot and not a new installment.

Corden didn't reveal anything else outside of this but it was enough to send ripples within the gaming community.

As previously mentioned, Capcom has done an excellent job bringing back and maintaining classic franchises like Devil May Cry and Resident Evil. Capcom might be looking to do the same thing for Dead Rising.

Despite the latest entry's lack of commercial success (the game failed to sell more than a million copies at launch when Capcom expected the number to be around 2 million), the franchise itself has sold over 15 million copies since 2006. This makes it one of the most successful franchises in gaming and worth the effort to reboot, especially in light of the successful reception by audiences to Dead Island 2 and Dying Light 2.

It isn't clear when we'll hear more about Capcom's Dead Rising reboot, but the company is expected to reveal more about its plans for other games later this year.

After releasing Resident Evil 4 Remake in March, Capcom

will roll out

Street Fighter VI on June 2.

Speaking of Jez Corden, the famed industry insider also said that he's heard something about Sony and Konami

inking an exclusivity deal

for Silent Hill, Metal Gear, and Castlevania.
