Capcom is exploring the possibility of revisiting some of its classic franchises amidst a period of success, asking fans their thoughts about their “forgotten” properties, including the long-dormant survival horror series, Dino Crisis.
Through a survey on the Capcom Town website, launched as part of the company’s 40th-anniversary celebrations, Capcom is directly asking fans about their interest in sequels, new entries, or remakes of various series, including Dino Crisis, Onimusha, Okami, and Breath of Fire. This move indicates that Capcom is considering tapping into its rich catalog of IPs to potentially breathe new life into beloved games with modern technology.
The survey contains specific questions aimed at gauging fan interest in sequels, remakes, or new games for up to three franchises from a list that includes Dino Crisis. This suggests that Capcom is seriously weighing fan interest as it contemplates its future project roadmap.
Dino Crisis is a series that blends survival horror with dinosaurs. It has been a particular point of interest for fans, especially in light of the success of the trio of Resident Evil remakes. The last Dino Crisis game was released in 2003, but the franchise has maintained a dedicated fan base. The survey’s mention of Dino Crisis has reignited hopes for a remake, reboot, or new installment.

The survey also hints at the potential for reviving other Capcom franchises, including Mega Man, Final Fight and Commando. The inclusion of popular and obscure titles alike indicates an interest in revisiting various aspects of its gaming heritage based on fan demand.
However, it’s essential to note that the survey’s existence and the questions it poses do not guarantee that any specific project, like Dino Crisis remake, is currently in development or will definitely happen.
Capcom’s recent successes with remakes and new entries in established series have shown a willingness to update its classics for a modern audience, suggesting that fan feedback could play a crucial role in shaping its future endeavors.
With the Resident Evil remakes setting a high standard, fans have high expectations for any potential Dino Crisis project, hoping for a similar level of quality and attention to detail.
Unfortunately, with basically no one playing Exoprimal after a briefly successful launch, Capcom might not want to work on a game that’s related to actual dinosaurs anytime soon.
Capcom is reportedly working on multiple Resident Evil games at the moment, including the next mainline entry in the series.
